All About the Garden
State Harmonica Club
Founded in 1971 by George Osterman, a local musician, the Garden State Harmonica Club is one of the nation's leading harmonica organizations, providing a gathering place for those who share the enjoyment of this simple yet beautiful instrument... the well beloved "mouth organ". The membership is drawn from a wide geographic area, and includes beginning players, professionals, former professionals, and others who attend simply to hear the great sounds of which the instrument is capable. The club also supports a Harmonica Ensemble which performs frequently throughout the area, providing entertainment for various local organizations.
The
Garden State Harmonica is non profit and tax exempt.
We host a June picnic in Van Saun Park, Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ at which members perform in an informal outdoor setting for themselves and anyone of the public who chooses to listen. For the exact date
of the picnic, e-mail us.
Meeting Times and Locations
The Garden State Harmonica Club usually meets monthly,
except in July and August. However, we are changing our meeting time
and place. The December 28th meeting will be held in our present
location:
The Knights of Columbus Hall, 105 Grove Avenue (Grove is off Maywood Avenue, one block north of the Maywood Municipal Building at Maywood and Park Avenues.) The January meeting will be on January 14th at St. Martin's
Episcopal Church on the corner of Parkway and Oak Ave., also in Maywood. It is very close to the K of C and thus very close to where we have been meeting.

On this website are recent back issues of The REED, the club's newsletter, which is mailed ten times per year (only nine times
this year!) to every member. New members are always welcome, whether players or listeners. Club dues are a modest $25. A Membership Application can be downloaded and sent for new and renewal purposes.
For more on our group, check out this website, click on the links, write for information or e-mail us through the Contact Us section.
